Our Circles Are Like This

Our Circles Are Like This is a Portland, OR based duo consisting of Michael Daniewicz ( guitars / bass ) and Jason Dalbey ( acoustic / electrical drums ) with a focus on composing and recording. The duos sound might be described as experimental, exploratory electronic space rock with world/ethnic stylings.

Having met in PDX in 1997, the two formed Paradigm Driven along with Anthony Pan - vocals, and Beth Prana - bass guitar. This group disbanded in 2000 amidst recording a second album. Mike and Beth moved on to form Surviving Desire with drummer Cedric and vocalist / multi instrumentalist Pamela Blackhorse for a time until Mike and Jason reunited in 2005 and along with Blackhorse formed the 13th Soul.  This lineup produced two studio albums and disbanded in 2010. All of these groups based their sound loosely in the progressive rock genre playing local clubs and events.

Currently Our Circles has a lot of material in the works, all at various stages of recording/mixing and composition. Songs that have been released are available for download. Forthcoming adventures such as 'Space Jam - the garage session', & 'Space Jam' (tentatively titled) will be completed summer 2022 and released Asap. Stay tuned!

The guys are also known to operate under the alter ego Vatos con Gatos, and a collection of songs is also in the works. But seriously, the guys love their felines. Check out the Gatos page to meet all the kids.
